What’s Trending in Bathroom Design for 2026?

Sculptural Shapes and Textured Finishes:

We will see more curved basins, units and organically shaped mirrors that bring softness to a space. Texture is also still taking center stage as we go into 2026 with layering of accessories, fixtures and textured finishes offering a way to transform a bathroom into an immersive and tactile environment. Think wicker and rattan for accessories.  Fluted finishes are also still very strong, adding a sense of warmth and detail to a bathroom giving that sensory experience.

Wall Panels:

Whilst bathroom tiles have been the go-to for many years, people are turning to wall panels and the industry has seen a growth in popularity these last few years. Wall panels are cost-effective, give a 100% waterproof surface, don’t require grout so no grout lines, are quicker to install and are a more practical choice. Plus, with so many options from marble effect, to terrazzo, granite and wood as well as more funky bolder prints, there is absolutely no compromising on style options!

The Beauty of Pink:

Searches for pink bathrooms increase 114% from 2024 to 2025. The rise in pink bathrooms has led to a demand in warmer metallic finishes also to complement the different shades. Soft blush pinks, deep rose and dark pinks are all being seen on Instagram sometimes contrasted with botanical prints and leafy greens.

Japandi:

This is a trend that’s been popular for a few years now and is still going strong.  Combining the clean lines of Japanese minimalism with the cosy functionality of Scandinavian design. This style incorporates nature inspired natural materials, curves and soft, calm neutrals. Think light woods, brushed finishes and smooth stone-like surfaces, with richer, textured finishes and layered materials anchoring the trend, creating an atmosphere of calm and balance, as well as warm and inviting all of which contribute to a serene aesthetic spa-like space.

Intense Colour:

Homeowners are becoming much braver with accent colours, patterns, feature tiles, bold pieces, painted ceilings etc. bringing individuality and energy to a bathroom design (see personalisation). Bold visual interest will be strong this year in design using intense colours, pieces and patterns to make your bathroom really stand out from the crowd.

Sustainability:

Water saving products continue to be of the upmost importance to consumers this year with a focus on eco-friendly performance.

Smart Tech:

In 2026 we will see an increase in smart tech in bathrooms, with more smart loos, digital and feature-packed showers, spa baths with integrated gadgetry, as well as smart lighting and illuminated mirrors with built in tech such as; heated pads to prevent condensation, colour temperature changing LED illumination, touch free operation, phone features, wireless toothbrush chargers and built in hidden charging sockets all coming to the market. Adding ease and efficiency to daily routines.

Personalisation:

The act of injecting one’s personality into your bathroom design is a trend that has been driven by social media.  The use of playful nostalgia, experimenting with finishes, layouts taps and handles, bolder tones and using open shelving to display curated personal items are some of the ways that it is being expressed.
